Yes, its for sure that only a few know the russian dark tunes of the eighties neither the nineties, except the last years of the decade like Moon For Away or Dvar, and -of course- the very first compilation of russian bands. Now is time to review the last cd of a band that receives all the influence of the english 'gothic' scene, the enigmatic DoppelgangeR who started their discography with an autotitled tape in 1995!!!
With three releases in this decade, the Moscow based gothic band composed their last full length 'DANCING' that was released under the label Shadowplay Release. The first track is 'Leaves' that have several piano sounds along the track and guitar distortions like the next 'Looser' that starts with guitar touchs similar to Fields Of The Nephilim while the voice made me remember the best years of Iggy Pop in the voice of Yuri Postoev.
We must say that in all the tracks will appear the guitar distortions of Yuri 'Nikniki', the third one is 'Killing Machine' a darkpop hymn with more keyboard sounds like into the next ones: '10 Years' and the beautiful 'Pain Of Feelings'. 'Angel Song' keeps the same structure with more emphasys in the bass played by Dmitry 'Flo' Tishin, followed by 'Dancing Goodbye' a little influenced Sisters Of Mercy song -of course- without that keyboard piano sound.
The eighth song is 'Bloody Solution' that keep the same tunes like 'City Of Sin', 'Slavery Moon' has a start more electro, with more heavy metal guitars while the last one is completely electronic -in a synthdark tune- its a remix of "Winters Misery"
Finally, we must inform that DoppelgangeR played in 'Eve of Destruction Halloween Party' and at "UNPLUGGED CAFE" the last months of 2005 and that has a new line up, because the drummer Alexander The Maggoth has joined the band.
