1. Come nasce la vostra band?

Flo: Ci esercitavamo con le chitarre invece di andare a scuola e volevamo a tutti i costi diventare dei musicisti rock. Questo avvenne molto tempo fa.

Black CaT: La band si è formata a Mosca nel 1994, io mi sono unita nel 2006.

Maggott: É da molto tempo che mi sono unito alla band. É stato molto semplice: Flo mi ha telefonato offrendomi di suonare la batteria con loro. Non suonavo da quando ho lasciato gli USA ed è stato molto piacevole per me, nonché fonte d'ispirazione.
Dopo un paio di prove era chiaro che potevamo lavorare assieme, e così è stato.

2. Come vi siete avvicinati al genere goth?

Flo: Non ricordo. Ma sono sicuro che non fu quando andavo a scuola.

Black CaT: Onestamente non lo so. Mi avvicinavo, avvicinavo e alla fine ne sono entrata a farne parte.

Maggoth: Suonavo sempre in bands orientate verso sonorità post punk, non eravamo ancora goth in realtà, quando vivevo a Los Angeles feci il provino per diverse bands e venni accettato in una band goth, discretamente conosciuta, essi erano e sono tutt'ora veramente goth, e ripeto veramente. Dopodiché sono diventato una parte della scena goth in LA.

3. Quali sono le vostre band preferite? Cosa ascoltate al momento?

Flo: Band indie e prima wave e gothic rock. Adesso ascolto The Swans, The Horrors, The Fall and The Clash

Black CaT: Mi piacciono molto le band gothic e death rock della prima wave e degli 80 in generale. All'infuori delle bands di nuova generazione mi piacciono i The Horrors e Neils Children.

Maggoth: Mi è sempre piaciuta la musica indipendente, il post punk e le bands orientate al decadente. Per me i Joy Division significano molto; ... erano la mia musica di ogni giorno. I battiti elettrici dei Kraftwerk mi son sempre apparsi grandiosi. Ho sempre voluto suonare la batteria come se fossi una macchina: semplice, forte e ripetitiva. Gli album di Nico mi hanno spinto verso il dark. É bello poter citare gli artisti per cui vado pazzo.

4. Quali sono le vostre influenze?

Flo: Joy Division, Bauhaus, Siouxsie and The Banshees.

Black CaT: Di sicuro Joy Division, Bauhaus, The Cure, Alien Sex Fiend, e la musica della mia infanzia; Type O Negative:)

5. Cosa ne pensate dell'attuale scena goth nel vostro paese? E nel mondo?

Flo: Beh, abbiamo poche etichette, poche riviste con interviste alle band locali. Ma non siamo interessati granchè a tutto ciò. Finalmente stanno comparendo nuove band che suonano gothic rock.

Black CaT: La scena goth nel nostro paese non è molto grande. Puoi contare le band goth usando le tue dita. La cosa più triste è che nessuno le supporta. Nel resto del mondo la scena goth è fiorente.

Maggoth: É una mia opinione personale che il goth e il post punk sono in uno stato di resurrezione adesso, ed è piacevole ciò. Descrivere la scena goth russa mi è difficile, ma so che c'è ed è discretamente popolare in questi giorni.

6. Diteci qualcosa riguardo ai testi e la musica.

Flo: Siamo come una band underground dei primi 80. I nostri testi sono ispirati dalle scritture di Gustav Meirink.

Maggoth: Flo scrive tutti i testi e dopo li traduciamo in inglese, in modo da essere maggiormente compresi negli altri paesi. Anche la musica è composta da Flo, noi prendiamo le sue idee e le applichiamo. Ognuno di noi sente cose diverse nella nostra musica, posso solo dire che è tutto onesto e viene dal cuore.

7. Avete dei progetti per il futuro?

Flo: Durante quasi tutta l'intera estate terremo concerti all'estero. E penso che per l'inverno registreremo.

Maggoth: Stiamo lavorando a del nuovo materiale per il nuovo album, ed è senza dubbio il miglior lavoro fatto finora, e speriamo possa venire bene quando lo registreremo.

8. Che tipo di rapporto avete con il pubblico?

Flo: Vengono tutti a vederci suonare.

Maggoth: Abbiamo un numero di fans che ci seguono, è sempre bello apprendere e leggere che a molta gente qua e là inizia a piacere la nostra roba. Speriamo di guadagnare sempre più devoti ascoltatori in futuro.

9. Avete idee per un tour? Dove vi piacerebbe suonare in futuro?

Flo: Come ho detto prima terremo concerti all'estero quest'estate, non siamo mai stati in tour. Ci piacerebbe a un certo punto venire anche in Europa.

Maggoth: Abbiamo pochi concerti pianificati per quest'estate in Finlandia, Lituania e probabilmente Olanda. Vediamo come il tutto diventerà realtà. Siamo sempre disposti a visitare nuovi posti e incontrare nuova gente, che alla fine diventeranno nostri amici. Il vostro paese è anch'esso uno dei posti che ci piacerebbe esplorare.

10. Lascio le ultime parole a voi.

Black CaT: Auguro a tutti voi di avere una piacevole estate, ascoltare musica, divertirsi e andare a vedere suonare le bands preferite.

Maggoth: Mi piacerebbe qui salutare e mandare pace, amore e divertimento a tutte le persone del tuo paese, non importa quello che fanno o stanno ascoltando. Grazie!

1. How did you form?

Flo: We just torchured our guitars instead of going to school and we wanted badly to become a rock musicians. That was far long ago.

Black CaT: The band was formed in 1994 in Moscow, I have joined the band in 2006

Maggoth: Actual band (DoppelgängeR) long time before I have joined it. That was simple and very prosaic; Flo telephoned me and offered playing drums with them. I was not playing music since I left US and it was verypleasant and inspiring for me.
After a couple of rehearsals it was clearthat we can work together, that was it.

2. How did you approach to goth?

Flo: I do not remember. But I am positive that it was not when I was inschool.

Black CaT: Honestly I don't know:) I was approaching, approaching andsuddenly got into it:)

Maggoth: I was always playing in post punk oriented bands, there were not actually goth, when I was living in LA I was auditioning for different bands and got accepted into one gothic band, quite known, they were and still are really goth, I mean REALLY. After that I have become a part of gothic scene in LA.

3. Which are your musical influence? What do you listen right now?

Flo: Indie bands and first wave gothic rock. Now I am listening to The Swans, The Horrors, The Fall and The Clash.

Black CaT: I very much like gothic and death rock bands of first wave and 80th in general. Out of new generation bands I like The Horrors and Neils Children.

Maggoth: I was always into independent music, post punk and decadence oriented bands. To me Joy Division means a lot; The Phillies, Galaxy 500and The Fall were my almost everyday music. Electro beats by Kraftwerk always seemed cool to me. I always wanted to play drums like I am amachine, - simple, loud, and repetitive. Album by Nico, the one where shesings couple songs in Flemish - kicked me hard into the dark types of music. It is very tough to mention every band I am crazy about.

4. Which bands influences you more?

Flo: Joy Division, Bauhaus, Siouxsie and The Banshees.

Black CaT: Definitely Joy Division, Bauhaus, The Cure, Alien Sex Fiend, and music from my childhood Type O Negative. :)

5. What do you think about the actual goth scene in your nation? And in the world?

Flo: Well, we have a few labels, a few magazines with interviews with the local bands. But we are not interested in it pretty much. Finally thereare new bands appearing, who play gothic rock.

Black CaT: Gothic scene in our country is not too big. You can count the gothic bands by using your fingers. The most sad part is no one supports these. In the rest of the world gothic scene is kind blooming:)

Maggoth: It's my personal opinion and can't universal and correct. I think goth and post punk is in resurrection stage now, which is pleasant. To characterize Russian goth scene is hard for me, but I know it is there and quite popular these days.

6. Tell us something about your music and text.

Flo: We sound like an underground band fro early 80th. Lyrics are inspiredby writings of Gustav Meirink.

Maggoth: Flo writes all the lyrics and then we transfer it to English, sowe can be understood more in the other countries. Music is also written by Flo, we just take his idea and put it on what we are able of. Everyonehears different things in our music, I just can say it is honest and from the heart.

7. Any projects for your future?

Flo: During almost the whole summer we will perform abroad. And I think by the winter time we will finally get into recording.

Maggoth: We are currently working on new material for the new album, so far it is the greatest material I ever worked with, and we just hope it will come out good when we will record it.

8. Which kind of relationship do you have with the audience?

Flo: They all come to see us play.

Maggoth: We have a number of steady fans who follow us, it is always nice to learn and read that more people here and there start liking our stuff. Hope we gain more devoted listeners in the future.

9. Any news for a tour? Where would you like to play in the future?

Flo: As I said above we will perform abroad this summer, we have never beenon tour, just single shows so far. We would like to come to Europe at somepoint.

Maggoth: We have few concerts planned for this summer in Finland, Latvia,and possibly in Netherlands. Let's see how it will become a reality. We are always open to visit new places and meet new people, who eventually will become our friends. You country is also one of the territories we would love to explore.
